Edmund is a man in his late 40's. He's single, never been married and has no children. He is tall and lanky but carries a small pot in his stomach as a result of heavy drinking. His body is withered, reflecting the many years of hard work. He has brown/ginger hair, bright blue eyes and many religious tattoos. He is incredibly smart, quick and strategic, but also heavy drinker and smoker, a minimalist and methodical.
Jesse is a nine-year-old girl who lives with her mum and her older brother. She's energetic, persuasive and persistent like any other nine-year-old child. Her eyes are big,full of colour and life. Her free lifestyle makes Jesse strong willed, independent and inquisitive.
Second Chance is using the traditional 2D pencil and paper animation with a black/white and colour finish. An estimated 50,000 individual drawings were made during production. See above the rough animation for "Dance" sequence.
